Sant Juan Illuminations, which has become a popular winter tradition in Ishinomaki-city.
The exhibition “The restoration ship San Juan Bautista” will end at the end of March 2021.
A total of 40,000 lights illuminate the restored ship and San Juan Park. This illuminations are the final delivery to the restored ship! So, don’t miss it!

The Sant Juan Bautista was built on the order of Sendai feudal lord Masamune Date in 1613. It set sail from Ishinomaki heading for Europe. The mission members led by Tsunenaga Hasekura were called the “Keicho Envoy”.
The Sant Juan Museum introduces the historical exploits of Tsunenaga Hasekura and the journey using a replica ship, diorama, display panels and big screen theater etc.
