Today I show you beautiful lake.
Do you see what are these footprints on the snow?
It is Swan flown from Siberia.
It is Lake Izunuma-Uchinuma where is protected by Ramsar Convention.
It means we can see many kinds of animals and plants, including Swans, Geese, Herons, Lotus, Lily, Carp. Eel etc.
When I visited, I was very exciting to see a lot of Swans arrived from Siberia to spend winter time in Japan especially around Lake Izunuma-Uchinuma.
Do you know Russian composer Tchaikovsky?
I have hummed his famous "Swan Lake" when I have been there looking beautiful white birds.
It is not difficult to get there. Just 5 minutes drive from Kurikoma Kogen Station of Shinkansen. It takes 50 minutes from Minamisanriku.
